Winfrey
shared her rise to fame with THR in her first hourlong podcast, where she also
revealed the person in showbiz today who reminds her of herself and the last
time she was on a commercial airline.
Oprah Winfrey may be the most famous
living woman today, and the most recognizable. While speaking with The
Hollywood Reporter on an Awards Chatter podcast (which happens to be
Winfrey's first podcast herself), she was asked about the last time someone
didn't know who she was, and answered, "Uhhh... let's see, I don't know. I
can't remember when that was!"
Winfrey, whose 25-year run on The
Oprah Winfrey Show solidified her as a top interviewer, expressed that the
one person in showbiz who reminds her of herself is John Travolta "because
of his love of life." With the rise of her talk show, Oprah also adds that
the last time she was on a commercial airline was April 1991.
Throughout Oprah's ups and downs
including her rocky childhood, establishing her OWN network and most recently
starring in HBO's The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, she has managed
to keep herself in check, expressing that she has only yelled at someone a
total of five times.
"I can honestly tell you there
have been five times now in my life where I have been angry enough to raise my
voice — I can tell you all five, and three of them were with the same person."
[She says it was a male employee who she hired, fired, hired, fired, hired and
fired.]
