Actress Stephanie Okereke-Linus is
known for her stellar films and her scandal free reputation. But she has been
accused of stealing the script of her film Dry from a little known script
writer. She is being asked to pay N100
million in damages. Another Nollywood actress and movie producer Omoni Oboli
was earlier called out for stealing Okafor's Law story by script writer Jude Idada.
That popular actress Stephanie Okereke-Linus may have stolen
the script for her highly acclaimed film Dry. She is being accused of flat out
theft by lawyer and scriptwriter, Daniella Madudu who is demanding a suitable
compensation of N60 million, and
royalties, failing which a civil and criminal action will be taken against
Stephanie Okereke-Linus and her associate, Joy Ndidi.
Several sources confirm that Joy
Ndidi, was on Miss Madudu’s team of readers and editors in 2011. And as such,
she made a copy of the script then titled Behind Her Veil. Madudu however had
no inkling of foul play until the movie Dry premiered across cinemas in
Nigeria, and her attention was drawn to the similarities in both stories. In
the official court documents prepared by Lagos based solicitors, Rafiu Bello
& co, Miss Madudu is requesting credits as owner of the original story,
since a substantial part of Behind Her Veil was adapted for the movie Dry.

Speaking about the letter, Madudu’s
lawyer stated that “We are ready to file the suit anytime from tomorrow as
stated in the demand letter. We have only waited for the 14 days to lapse to
offer an opportunity for Mrs. Okereke-Linus to settle the matter amicably. The ultimatum
lapses today, June 2, 2017.”
